Electrical Design Technician: Energy and Power

The Role

Your impact The energy industry continues to evolve, with ongoing investment across power generation, transmission, distribution, and industrial energy infrastructure. Jacobs is expanding its Energy & Power Solutions team to support a broad portfolio of projects serving utility, industrial, and infrastructure clients across North America and internationally. As part of this growth, we are expanding our production staff to support the delivery of high-quality engineering design and construction documentation.

Responsibilities

• Develop electrical design models and construction drawings for complex energy projects that support reliable, efficient, and modern power systems.
• Coordinate BIM models in Revit and CAD environments.
• Oversee and coordinate multi-discipline design teams to deliver accurate, constructible three-dimensional models and drawing packages.
• Work closely with electrical engineers, designers, and project teams to support a diverse group of multi-sector clients.

Requirements

• Advanced proficiency with Revit, AutoCAD, and Navisworks.
• Proven experience producing complex BIM models and construction drawings in an engineering or consulting environment.
• Strong understanding of electrical equipment, systems, and layouts.
• Demonstrated ability to coordinate with multi-disciplinary teams.
• Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
• Proven work ethic and ability to meet project schedules and requirements.
• Clear communication and collaboration skills.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or related field.
• Minimum of 5 years of relevant experience in electrical engineering or related field.

Skills

• Proficiency in Revit, AutoCAD, and Navisworks.
• Experience with BIM modeling and construction documentation.
• Strong understanding of electrical systems and equipment.
• Excellent problem-solving and attention to detail skills.
• Effective communication and collaboration abilities.

Pay

The base salary range for this position is $80,600.00 to $108,825.00; though will be paid hourly based on hours worked. Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training.
