Electrical Design Expert and Team Lead

Role Overview

Provide technical leadership and management for a Powersports design team by guiding engineering output, supervising project execution, and ensuring delivery of high-quality specifications and designs. This position combines technical expertise with organizational leadership to meet business goals, improve product development, uphold global quality standards, and enhance engineering capabilities.

Key Responsibilities

• Review and approve engineering designs, specifications, calculations, and documentation for accuracy and quality.
• Lead troubleshooting for development and production issues, driving root cause analysis and risk mitigation.
• Supervise and contribute to multiple concurrent projects, balancing workload and resources.
• Mentor and coach team members to develop skills and ensure consistent quality output.
• Communicate effectively across functions, representing the team in discussions with management, suppliers, and global affiliates.
• Enhance design processes, tools, and best practices for efficiency and reliability.
• Participate in hiring, performance evaluations, and workforce planning.
• Support team and individual goal setting aligned with business objectives.

Qualifications & Skills

• Bachelor's Degree in Engineering (Electrical, Mechanical, or relevant field) or equivalent experience.
• 8+ years of related experience, including 2+ years in supervisory or project leadership roles.
• Strong leadership, coaching, and mentoring skills.
• Excellent communication, interpersonal, and presentation abilities.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office, CAD software, FTA, FMEA, and dimensional tolerance analysis.
• Effective problem-solving, analytical, and decision-making skills.
• Ability to operate with confidentiality and manage multiple priorities.

Working Conditions

Includes occasional travel, primarily desk-based work, with exposure to typical office and shop hazards. Overtime may be required based on project needs. Maintains professional conduct and adheres to safety policies.
