Electrical Design Engineer
The Electrical Design Engineer position is based in our Pittsburgh office in Cranberry, PA, serving our Engraving Solutions business, which includes Brady and Gravotech brands. Key responsibilities include:
Ledesign process for customized Laser and Dot Peen marking systems, creating comprehensive schematic and panel layout packages using AutoCAD Electrical.
Select, evaluate, and specify critical electrical components to optimize system performance, reliability, and cost-effectiveness.
Develop, test, and implement robust automation programs for customized systems, primarily using Rockwell Allen-Bradley PLCs and associated programming software.
Collaborate with the custom solution engineering team to ensure designs meet project specifications and integrate seamlessly with mechanical and software components.
Provide expert technical support during system build, testing, and commissioning, occasionally traveling to customer sites for inspections, installations, and start-ups.
To be successful, candidates should have:
- A bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering.
- Minimum of two (2) years of relevant experience.
- Strong proficiency in AutoCAD Electrical and AutoDesk Suite.
- Experience in the Allen-Bradley Suite.
- Familiarity with applicable codes and standards like NEC, NFPA 79, UL508a.
- Attention to detail, organization, and problem-solving skills.
- Working knowledge of SAP and Arena (PLM), Vault, AutomationDirect, or similar software.
- Experience with Vision and Robot programming, networking, and common industrial protocols (EtherNet/IP and PROFINET).
