About the role

P2S is seeking an Electrical Design Engineer to support our San Diego, CA location. This position offers a competitive salary range of $90,000 - $115,000, depending on experience, and a flexible hybrid schedule of 3 days in-office and 2 remote days.

Responsibilities

  • Perform field surveys for the design of electrical systems, gather information, and prepare site assessment reports.
  • Design power single line and riser diagrams, perform electrical calculations (arc flash, coordination, short circuit, voltage drop, load flow) using ETAP/SKML.
  • Select lighting fixtures and power equipment, design and coordinate the lighting control system.
  • Prepare fire alarm device layout based on International Fire Code and NFPA 72, design fire alarm riser diagrams, calculations, and sequence of operations.
  • Prepare enlarged plans, elevations, schedules, and details, understand and utilize CAD/BIM standards, and have a working knowledge of National Electrical Code and Energy Standards.
  • Coordinate among different disciplines, such as mechanical, plumbing, telecom, civil, structural, and architectural.
  • Work in close contact with the entire design team.
  • Support electrical design projects with a focus on lighting systems, collaborate with project teams to deliver high-quality engineering solutions, assist with lighting circuiting and lighting controls design.
  • Utilize AutoCAD and Revit MEP for design documentation.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or a related field (required).
  • 2-5 years of experience in electrical design (required).
  • Experience with lighting design preferred (preferred).
  • Familiarity with Title 24 compliance is a plus (preferred).
  • Proficiency in AutoCAD and Revit (required).
  • AGi software experience is a plus (preferred).
  • EIT license is a plus (preferred).
  • Association with IES/IEEE is a plus (preferred).
