About the Role
We are seeking a skilled Industrial Controls & Panel Technician to join our production operations in Claremore. In this role, you will own the electrical validation of our fan-cooled units, manage the "First Article" testing process for new production runs, and act as the primary operational resource for electrical troubleshooting. You will work heavily inside mixed-voltage control panels containing both 480V AC 3-phase power and 24V DC control circuits.
Responsibilities
- First Article Inspection: Conduct complete electrical validation on initial production units, following schematics and test protocols to verify proper wiring before unit sign-off.
- Control Panel Diagnostics: Utilize digital multimeters (DMMs) to troubleshoot and isolate issues within mixed-voltage enclosures (480V AC power and 24V DC control logic).
- Network & Comms Verification: Diagnose and correct physical-layer issues on daisy-chained fan configurations utilizing RS485 communication lines (checking for termination issues, swapped lines, and grounding loop faults).
- PLC I/O Troubleshooting: Reference internal PLC hardware modules and status indicators to verify that field sensors and inputs are registering correctly at the controller.
- Quality Documentation: Accurately log test results, continuity checks, and loop-voltage baselines to maintain quality control standards and feed design feedback to engineering.
Requirements
- Experience: 3+ years of experience as an industrial electrician, controls technician, or panel builder in a manufacturing, HVAC, or automation environment.
- Electrical Safety: Strong working knowledge of electrical safety practices; NFPA 70E certification or equivalent safety training is highly preferred.
- Schematic Literacy: Absolute proficiency in reading, interpreting, and redlining complex industrial electrical schematics and wiring diagrams.
- Tools of the Trade: Expert proficiency with digital multimeters for troubleshooting voltage drops, continuity, and resistance values.
- Physical Requirements: Ability to safely navigate a production floor and manipulate panel wiring with high precision.
