About the role

Bongards Premium Cheese is seeking an Electrical Controls Technician to join the 3rd shift team. Shifts are from 10 pm to 6 am, Sunday night through Thursday night.

Responsibilities

  • Plan, coordinate and perform electrical & instrumentation related maintenance activities.
  • Perform routine corrective maintenance, preventive maintenance, equipment and system improvements.
  • Perform routine instrument calibration and corrective/preventive maintenance on instrument equipment and control systems.
  • Install, program, maintain, troubleshoot, repair and service programmable logic controllers, variable frequency drives and electrical support systems.
  • Develop electrical controls by researching, analyzing, selecting and applying electrical controls concepts.
  • Implement electrical controls design by providing installation, start-up and technical support.
  • Maintain detailed documentation of all plant electrical & control systems, instrument calibration records and related data.

Requirements

  • PLC/HMI Programs, electrical systems, VFD and RTD knowledge, AC/DC control circuits, electro-mechanical systems and troubleshooting.
  • 3 to 5 years of experience supporting a high-speed manufacturing facility.
  • Advanced electrical and process troubleshooting skills.
  • Working knowledge of Allen Bradley and Siemens PLCs.
  • Experience troubleshooting manufacturing control systems.
  • Experience wiring control components including VFDs, PLCs, motor circuits, and safety circuits.
  • Working knowledge of 3-phase and servo motors, sensors, proximity switches, relays, pneumatic valves, HMI.

Qualifications

  • Must be able to lift up to 70 lbs.
  • Able to walk up and down stairs.
  • Varying periods of sitting, walking, standing, and plant floor responsibilities.

Skills

  • Must be able to follow written and verbal instructions.
  • Must demonstrate excellent communication skills.
  • Must adhere to and follow all GMP’s, SOP’s, and Safety Guidelines when performing all work.
  • Must report all food safety problems to immediate supervisor or their designated replacement.
  • Must demonstrate a commitment of both food and employee safety.
