Electrical Controls Technician

About the role

The Electrical Controls Technician at American Pump Repair & Service, Inc. is responsible for installing, commissioning, troubleshooting, and servicing a variety of electrical controls systems for the water and wastewater industries.

Responsibilities

• Taking part in troubleshooting equipment and systems, new installations, rehabs, and assisting Service Technicians and Project Managers with other aspects of service calls and projects.
• Using electrical testing equipment including multimeter, megohmmeter, amp meter, and others to diagnose control and motor issues.
• Installing conduit, wire, and electrical enclosures.
• Installation, commissioning, and troubleshooting of control panel components such as circuit breakers, contactors, overloads, relays, transformers, VFDs, PLCs, and more.

Requirements

• 3 years of industrial/municipal electrical experience preferred.
• Clean driving and criminal records.
• Ability to work well individually and with a small team.
• Ability to communicate effectively with customers and colleagues.
• Ability to document work in an effective and organized manner.
• Self-motivated, punctual, problem solver.
