About the role
Reporting to the Department Manager, the Electrical and Controls Engineer is responsible for all aspects of electrical, automation, and control systems for all equipment in the factory to prevent equipment downtime and to increase productivity, safety, and quality.
Responsibilities
- Provide electrical, controls, and automation engineering support to ensure safe, reliable, and efficient production operations.
- Troubleshoot and optimize manufacturing equipment and control systems, including PLC programming changes, preventative maintenance support, and root cause problem-solving to minimize downtime.
- Lead and support capital and continuous improvement projects, from planning and execution through implementation of new equipment, processes, and technologies.
- Partner with production and maintenance teams to improve asset performance, develop operational strategies, and drive productivity and reliability improvements.
- Maintain technical documentation and engineering standards, including electrical schematics, equipment specifications, operating procedures, and spare parts inventory management.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering with 3+ years of experience in a manufacturing environment; experience with high-speed packaging equipment preferred.
- Strong electrical controls and automation knowledge, including process controls, motor controls, instrumentation, industrial networking, and Allen-Bradley PLC/FactoryTalk platforms.
- Demonstrated troubleshooting and problem-solving expertise, with the ability to diagnose complex equipment issues and drive continuous improvement initiatives.
- Strong analytical, critical thinking, and organizational skills, with attention to detail and the ability to manage priorities in a fast-paced environment.
- Comprehensive understanding of manufacturing systems, including the interaction of equipment, materials, processes, environment, and people to optimize operational performance.

Pay
US salary ranges: USD $88,000.00 - $132,000.00. The base salary range varies based on experience, training, education, and skills relevant to the position. The role is also eligible for an annual discretionary bonus, subject to change each year.
