About the Role
The Project Manager - Electrical is responsible for the initiation, implementation, and management of electrical business services, initiatives, and opportunities within the Electrical Division. This role supports customer service and growth, managing processes, personnel, and resources to deliver on-time, on-budget projects that meet or exceed customer expectations. The position requires a flexible schedule, including travel, out-of-town work, weekends, extended hours, and call-out work. The Project Manager reports to the Department Manager - Electrical and works primarily out of a designated location.
Responsibilities
- Provide development and oversight of project scope, purchasing, goals, scheduling, budgets, risk management, and resource management to ensure jobs are on-time, on-budget, and meet code requirements and customer expectations.
- Coordinate with inspectors and other trades to ensure work plans and quality standards are met.
- Coordinate with Accounting for work orders, job numbers, and billing processes.
- Provide management with fiscal reporting and updates as required.
- Create and review proposals, bill of materials, and job costing.
- Provide management with information, forecasts, and suggestions to improve department profitability.
- Review and complete work in progress (WIP) reports.
- Communicate personnel, equipment, and supply needs to the Manager.
- Manage and direct project team members through effective coaching and project coordination.
- Provide paperwork and documentation for accurate record keeping, billing, and inventory.
- Ensure proper communication to the Division Manager on all pertinent issues.
- Serve as the primary contact for assigned customers and cultivate customer relations to identify sales opportunities.
- Identify potential problems and provide effective solutions and problem-resolution.
- Coordinate and assist other trades and disciplines throughout the company as needed.
- Participate in post-project reviews to identify future areas for improvement.
Requirements
- Strong preference for candidates with 5+ years of current management experience in the Industrial Electrical Industry.
- Degree or Certification in Electrical discipline or Business Administration required, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Minimum of 5 years of electrical field experience preferred.
- Must possess a Master Electrical License in at least one state.
- Must acquire the MSHA-WV Electrical License within 2 years.
- Strong knowledge of safety and construction regulations.
- Strong mechanical and civil knowledge preferred.
- Excellent networking skills and ability to troubleshoot on-the-job issues effectively.
- Ability to make sound business decisions that add value to the customer and drive company growth.
- Proficient in organizational skills with high attention to detail.
- Demonstrated ability to excel under pressure, meet budgets, and deadlines.
- Strong computer skills, including Microsoft Office programs.
- Effective verbal and written communication skills.
- Professional, competent, and courteous representation of Pillar Innovations.
- Ability to coordinate with cross-functional teams to accomplish common goals.
- Self-starter with the ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
- Ability to adapt to ever-changing and emerging customer needs.
