Responsibilities
- Lead commercial electrical construction projects from preconstruction and project turnover through completion and closeout
- Develop and maintain project schedules, manpower plans, procurement timelines, and execution strategies
- Cook up and maintain relationships with electricians, foremen, subcontractors, vendors, general contractors, and internal project teams
- Serve as a primary contact for clients, inspectors, general contractors, and other project stakeholders
- Review electrical drawings, specifications, contracts, schedules, RFIs, submittals, and scope requirements
- Manage project budgets, cost forecasts, labor productivity, billing, and overall financial performance
- Prepare, price, negotiate, and track change orders throughout the project lifecycle
- Cook up and maintain relationships with BIM/VDC and prefabrication teams to resolve conflicts and support efficient field installation
- Pick up and pass along accurate scope turnover and project planning to estimating and preconstruction teams
- Identify labor, material, scheduling, and coordination risks before they affect project delivery
- Lead project meetings and provide clear updates regarding progress, staffing, costs, and operational challenges
- Oversee procurement, material deliveries, subcontractor performance, and project documentation
- Maintain accountability for safety, quality, schedule, profitability, and client satisfaction
- Manage multiple active commercial electrical projects across Michigan
Requirements
- 5+ years of commercial electrical construction project management experience
- Direct experience working for an electrical contractor or self-performing electrical construction company
- Strong understanding of commercial electrical systems, field operations, sequencing, and installation requirements
- Proven experience independently managing projects from preconstruction through final closeout
- Ability to read and interpret electrical drawings, specifications, schedules, contracts, and construction documents
- Experience managing project budgets, labor productivity, forecasting, billing, and change orders
- Experience coordinating field teams, general contractors, subcontractors, vendors, and internal departments
- Experience managing multiple active projects while maintaining schedule, budget, and quality expectations
- Strong leadership, communication, organization, and problem-solving skills
- Commercial electrical experience is required; residential-only backgrounds will not be considered
