Electrical Construction Inspector - Housing & Relocation Provided

About the Role
GoldenWolf is seeking an Electrical Construction Inspector to support the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers (USACE) Resident Office at Chief Joseph Dam in Bridgeport, Washington. This position is ideal for candidates with experience in construction, heavy civil construction, marine construction, engineering, construction management, or quality control who want to work on a unique and high-profile infrastructure project.
The projects at the dam will consist of work dealing with generator repair and refurbishment, including stator windings, generator alignment, brake systems, and more. Replacement of digital excitation systems. Overhaul and upgrade of primary components on two station service units.
Responsibilities
- Perform daily construction inspections and document contractor compliance with project specifications, plans, and contract requirements.
- Monitor contractor quality control activities and report on the effectiveness of the Quality Control Program.
- Observe construction operations and communicate issues, concerns, and deficiencies to project leadership.
- Review contractor red-line and as-built drawings for completeness and accuracy.
- Participate in progress payment reviews by verifying completed work quantities and project progress.
- Monitor contractor compliance with project safety requirements.
- Review implementation of contractor safety programs and report effectiveness.
- Prepare detailed daily QA reports and submit documentation within required timelines.
- Monitor environmental compliance activities, including:
- Marine mammal observations
- Bird monitoring
- Turbidity monitoring
- Environmental permit compliance
- Environmental quality control documentation
- Coordinate with USACE personnel, project engineers, and contracting staff regarding project status and field observations.
Requirements
- Minimum 2 years of electrical construction experience (in dam generator and power production electrical projects are preferred), or an applicable college degree
- Strong computer proficiency, including Microsoft Office
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to prepare detailed reports and maintain accurate project documentation
- Ability to obtain a NACI background investigation
- Must be willing to work outdoors in varying weather conditions around heavy equipment and construction activities
- Comfortable with extended periods of standing, walking, climbing, and inspecting construction work in potentially wet, dusty, noisy, or uneven environments
Preferred Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Engineering, Construction Engineering Technology, or related field
- Experience with U.S. Army Corps of Engineers (USACE) projects
- Experience in heavy civil, marine, waterfront, dam, or pile dike construction
- Construction inspection, quality control, or quality assurance experience
- Familiarity with contractor quality control systems
- Knowledge of USACE EM 385-1-1
- Knowledge of OSHA construction safety requirements
- Knowledge of dam generator systems to include stator windings, brake systems, digital excitation systems, station service units, and other key power generation components

Pay & Schedule
Full-time contract position lasting 365 days (July 24, 2026 - July 23, 2027). Consistent overtime available.
Work Environment
This position requires daily field presence on an active construction site. Office space will be provided on-site for administrative and reporting activities.
