Responsibilities
- Review and prioritize incoming bid opportunities to determine which projects are the best fit
- Download, organize, and prepare project plans and bid documentation
- Perform quantity takeoffs and prepare accurate cost estimates for commercial and industrial electrical projects
- Assemble bid packages including labor, material, and equipment pricing
- Solicit and evaluate vendor and subcontractor quotes
- Review project specifications to ensure bid compliance
- Attend required pre-bid meetings and project site visits
- Collaborate with project managers and senior estimators to validate constructability and estimate accuracy
- Absorb bid reviews, change orders, and post-award project handoffs
- Cook up bid documentation, registrations, and compliance paperwork
- Participate in weekly estimating meetings and project selection discussions
- Support continuous improvement of estimating processes as responsibilities grow
Requirements
- At least 2 years of construction estimating experience, preferably in electrical contracting
- Experience preparing bids using estimating software
- Strong computer skills with the ability to organize and manage multiple bid opportunities
- Strong attention to detail and excellent organizational skills
- Ability to read construction drawings and specifications
- Willingness to learn commercial and industrial electrical estimating practices
- Experience with Accubid and Bluebeam is highly preferred
- Experience with prevailing wage or public sector projects is a plus
- Field electrical experience or prior electrician background is beneficial
