Summary
Electrical engineering co-op students are considered integral members of the engineering staff, working on both technically challenging and educationally stimulating design tasks under the guidance of the engineering staff. The position is short-term, hourly (typically 40 hours per week), starting mid-August 2026. Essential Duties & Responsibilities
- Support engineering and design needs for ongoing projects in design or in the field.
- Accept responsibility and accountability.
- Be on time and dependable.
- Keep accurate records of billable time and submit time sheets on time.
- Complete tasks thoroughly and on time.
- Effectively understand and reiterate basic technical information.
- Understand and follow company structure and department standards and procedures.
- Understand floor plans, sections, details, and basic architectural concepts.
- Prepare and modify engineering drawings using computer-aided systems like AutoCad or Revit.
- Modify drawings to include views, layering, routines, and custom menus.
- Work with designers to develop preliminary sketches, layouts, details, and drawings.
- Perform basic electrical and lighting calculations.
- Participate in company technical training to gain understanding of processes and knowledge of field.
- Collaborate on projects to develop a plan for actions required to meet deadlines.
- Create, organize, and plot construction sets for issuance to the field.
- Deliver local drawings.
- After a couple terms, a co-op may be able to perform as an electrical designer.
- Meet expectations of all engineering and design co-ops, including demonstrating acceptance of responsibility, pride in work, flexibility, professionalism, dependability, and motivation.

Qualifications
- Education: Student candidate must be attending technical college for an associate’s degree or attending a 4-year college for a bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering or architectural engineering. Minimum GPA of 2.8.
- Experience: Any previous consulting engineering or construction field experience is desired.
- Communication Skills: Verbal and written communication skills, proficiency in Microsoft Office programs, and basic computing skills.
- Computer Skills: Proficiency in AutoCAD or Revit is desired.
