ELECTRICAL BUILDING MAINTENANCE TECHNICIAN III

About the role

This Building Maintenance Technician III position performs journeyman-level electrical maintenance and repairs with minimal supervision. The role involves planning, troubleshooting, and installing systems within the technician’s field of expertise.

Responsibilities

• Performs high-level maintenance and repairs on building interiors and exteriors.
• Conducts troubleshooting and root cause analysis within the field of expertise.
• Identifies and creates materials lists and general planning for job assignments.
• Develops work sequences for complex building maintenance and repair tasks.
• Applies problem-solving skills to establish corrective actions and prevent issue recurrence.
• Schedules tasks to efficiently complete complex assignments.
• Creates Scope of Work for tasks requiring outside vendors or contractors.
• Contacts and schedules vendors/contractors for repairs and emergencies outside routine maintenance.
• Maintains a schedule of required maintenance, repairs performed, and upcoming services.
• Works safely, recognizes unsafe situations, and takes appropriate action to ensure safety.
• Completes accurate documentation for assigned tasks.
• Safely uses hand and power tools.
• May perform tasks outside the scope of this job description.

Requirements

• Journeyman Electrical License required.
• Ability to read part manuals, electrical and mechanical schematics, assembly instructions, and troubleshooting guides.
• Experience working in industrial manufacturing buildings and systems.
• High degree of mechanical, pneumatic, hydraulic, electrical, and/or craftsman aptitude.
• Frequently lifts and/or moves items over 35 pounds.
• Self-starter with the ability to work unsupervised.
• Ability to work effectively in a team environment.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills; must be proficient in English.
• Willingness to work flexible hours.
• Full knowledge and ability to perform duties of Building Maintenance Tech I and II.
• Must be a U.S. person (citizen, lawful permanent resident, political asylee, or refugee) due to export control compliance requirements.

Skills

• Awareness and understanding of documents in the BMS Library, with competency in general and field-specific documents.
• Industrial repair abilities.

Work Environment

Office and manufacturing floor. This position is not eligible for remote work.

Pay

Base salary range (Inglewood only): $35/hr to $45/hr.
