About the Role

As an Electrical BIM Designer, you will be engaged in the design documentation while being responsible for the set-up and management of Revit BIM models in coordination with other discipline BIM leads and team members.

Responsibilities

  • Create and manage content towards fully coordinated 3D models across all design disciplines (C,S,A,M,E,P,T,I,L) as well as creating 2D construction drawings.
  • Work under the direction of electrical discipline or project leads.
  • Provide an opportunity to showcase your Revit expertise in while staying in accordance with Jacobs and client BIM standards.
  • Use a mixture of the Revit, Navisworks and AutoCAD software platforms.
  • Collaborate with other designers, discipline leads, architects and engineers who are all on the same Jacobs design team.
  • Turn the design intent of our senior electrical design staff into constructable deliverables including clash-free 3D models.

Requirements

  • High school graduate or equivalent
  • At least 3 years of BIM design experience
  • At least 3 years of relevant experience in electrical systems design and the construction industry
  • A growing understanding of how codes and standards shape design decisions
  • A growing understanding of design and construction specifications and their function
  • A basic understanding of wiring/cabling connections in relation to a circuit or a link between devices and equipment
  • Experience following client design and modeling standards
  • Familiarity with Bluebeam or similar markup software
  • Effective written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to estimate hours required for design and modeling efforts based on provided mark-ups and/or verbal direction requests
  • Willingness to learn new things

Qualifications

  • At least 3 years of Revit and/or AutoCAD design experience
  • Understanding of data center environments
  • Knowledge and design experience with power, cable routing, and lighting systems
  • Knowledge of electrical systems and one-line diagrams

Pay

The base salary range for this position is $66,000.00 to $90,800.00; though will be paid hourly based on hours worked. Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training.

Schedule

Employees have the option to split their work week between Jacobs offices/projects and remote locations enabling them to deliver their best work.
