Electrical BIM Designer
About the role
This job opportunity is available at any location in the United States. Ideally, selected candidates will be near a Jacobs U.S.-based office, but we intend to hire the best candidates. As an Electrical BIM Designer, you will be engaged in design documentation while being responsible for the setup and management of Revit BIM models in coordination with other discipline BIM leads and team members.
Working under the direction of electrical discipline or project leads, you will create and manage content toward fully coordinated 3D models across all design disciplines (Civil, Structural, Architectural, Mechanical, Electrical, Plumbing, Telecom, Instrumentation, and Life Safety) as well as creating 2D construction drawings. This work is accomplished in coordination with other designers, discipline leads, architects, and engineers on the same Jacobs design team.
Using Jacobs design methods and your keen eye for detail, you will help turn the design intent of senior electrical design staff into constructable deliverables, including clash-free 3D models.
Responsibilities
- Set up and manage Revit BIM models in coordination with other discipline BIM leads and team members.
- Create and manage content for fully coordinated 3D models across multiple design disciplines.
- Develop 2D construction drawings using Revit, Navisworks, and AutoCAD.
- Follow Jacobs and client BIM standards.
- Collaborate with designers, discipline leads, architects, and engineers to produce clash-free 3D models and constructable deliverables.
- Estimate hours required for design and modeling efforts based on provided markups or verbal direction.
- Apply knowledge of electrical systems, including power, cable routing, lighting systems, and one-line diagrams.
Requirements
- High school graduate or equivalent.
- At least 3 years of BIM design experience.
- At least 3 years of relevant experience in electrical systems design and the construction industry.
- Basic understanding of wiring/cabling connections in relation to circuits or links between devices and equipment.
- Experience following client design and modeling standards.
- Familiarity with Bluebeam or similar markup software.
- Effective written and verbal communication skills.
- Willingness to learn new things.
Qualifications (Preferred)
- At least 3 years of Revit and/or AutoCAD design experience.
- Understanding of data center environments.
- Knowledge and design experience with power, cable routing, and lighting systems.
- Knowledge of electrical systems and one-line diagrams.

Pay
The base salary range for this position is $66,000.00 to $90,800.00 and will be paid hourly based on hours worked. Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training.

Jacobs offers a hybrid working policy, allowing employees to split their work week between Jacobs offices/projects and remote locations.
