Electrical BIM Designer
This job opportunity is available at any location in the United States. Ideally, selected candidates will be near a Jacobs U.S.-based office, but we intend to hire the best candidates regardless of location.
About the role
As an Electrical BIM Designer, you will be engaged in design documentation while being responsible for the setup and management of Revit BIM models in coordination with other discipline BIM leads and team members. Working under the direction of electrical discipline or project leads, this position provides an opportunity to showcase your Revit expertise while adhering to Jacobs and client BIM standards.
Using Revit, Navisworks, and AutoCAD, you will create and manage content for fully coordinated 3D models across all design disciplines (Civil, Structural, Architectural, Mechanical, Electrical, Plumbing, Technology, Interiors, and Landscaping) as well as 2D construction drawings. You will collaborate with designers, discipline leads, architects, and engineers to turn design intent into constructable deliverables, including clash-free 3D models.
Responsibilities
- Set up and manage Revit BIM models in coordination with other discipline BIM leads and team members.
- Create and manage content for fully coordinated 3D models across all design disciplines.
- Develop 2D construction drawings using Revit, Navisworks, and AutoCAD.
- Collaborate with designers, discipline leads, architects, and engineers to produce constructable deliverables, including clash-free 3D models.
- Follow client design and modeling standards.
- Estimate hours required for design and modeling efforts based on provided markups and/or verbal direction requests.
Requirements
- High school graduate or equivalent.
- At least 3 years of BIM design experience.
- At least 3 years of relevant experience in electrical systems design and the construction industry.
- A growing understanding of how codes and standards shape design decisions.
- Basic understanding of wiring/cabling connections in relation to circuits or links between devices and equipment.
- Familiarity with Bluebeam or similar markup software.
- Effective written and verbal communication skills.
- Willingness to learn new things.
Preferred Qualifications
- At least 3 years of Revit and/or AutoCAD design experience.
- Understanding of data center environments.
- Knowledge and design experience with power, cable routing, and lighting systems.
- Knowledge of electrical systems and one-line diagrams.

Pay
The base salary range for this position is $66,000.00 to $90,800.00 and will be paid hourly based on hours worked. Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training.

Jacobs offers a hybrid working policy, allowing employees to split their work week between Jacobs offices/projects and remote locations.
