Position Summary

We are seeking an Electric Vehicle Service Technical Specialist at Orange EV, a leader in the electric vehicle industry. The ideal candidate will have a passion for product design, development, and customer engagement, along with a strong background in supporting service technicians.

Position Responsibilities

  • Aid technicians with diagnosis and repair through phone, video call, or in-person support.
  • Develop technical training materials such as Troubleshooting Guides, R&R instructions, Service Manuals, Special Production Instructions, Retrofit Instructions, etc.
  • Provide daily technical support to Orange EV Field Service and Customer Technicians.
  • Collaborate with Manufacturing and Service Team Members to ensure ongoing support.
  • Work closely with Product Engineering Departments on current and future product programs.
  • Set up Service Diagnostic Computers and Tooling.

Position Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree or Technical Certification in related field preferred.
  • 4+ years of Automotive or related technical experience.
  • High-voltage safety certification (e.g., NFPA 70E or OEM-specific HV credentials) preferred.
  • ASE L3 (Light Duty Hybrid/Electric Vehicle) or equivalent manufacturer-specific credentials preferred.
  • Occasional travel may be required.
  • Physical requirements include occasional field work and the ability to lift components up to 50lbs.

Key Technical Skills

  • Mastery of "Lockout/Tagout" (LOTO) procedures and the "Live-Dead-Live" testing methodology for high-voltage systems (300V–800V).
  • Development and creation of written procedures and bulletins, as well as live phone support of field technicians.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (PowerPoint, Word, Excel, Outlook, Teams).
  • Expertise in lithium-ion battery health, including cell balance, thermal management, and Battery Management Systems (BMS).
  • Proficiency with digital multimeters (DMMs), HV Isolation diagnostics, and Controller Area Network (CAN) diagnostics.
  • Understanding of powertrain systems, including inverters, controllers, and electric motors.
  • Working knowledge of pneumatic braking systems and hydraulic power steering and component systems.
