About the role
KEP Electric is seeking a dependable and safety-focused Electric Technician to support electrical installation, maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair activities in Single Family homes. This position works alongside experienced technicians while assisting with daily field operations and project-related tasks.
Responsibilities
- Aid in the installation, maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair of electrical systems and equipment.
- Review project plans, specifications, blueprints, schematics, and work orders to support project execution.
- Diagnose and resolve electrical issues in a timely and professional manner.
- Work in accordance with company policies, workplace safety requirements, and applicable electrical codes.
- Coordinate with employees, vendors, subcontractors, customers, and internal departments regarding project and operational needs.
- Maintain accurate records, reports, work orders, and other documentation related to electrical work.
- Support project schedules and assist with resolving field and operational concerns.
- Monitor tools, equipment, materials, and job-site conditions to promote safety and operational efficiency.
- Assist senior technicians and other field personnel as needed.
- Communicate professionally and respectfully during all customer, vendor, and employee interactions.
Requirements
- Basic knowledge of electrical systems, equipment, and troubleshooting methods.
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints, schematics, project plans, and electrical documentation.
- Familiarity with electrical tools, testing equipment, and related systems.
- Understanding of workplace safety practices and applicable electrical codes.
- Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.
- Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills.
- Strong attention to detail and awareness of job-site conditions.
- Able to organize tasks, manage priorities, and work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
- Able to work independently while collaborating with technicians, project teams, and other departments.

- Ability to speak, read, and write English when necessary to understand safety instructions, work orders, technical documents, or other essential job-related information.
- Ability to successfully complete job-related pre-employment screenings, which may include background and motor vehicle record checks, where permitted by law.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED preferred.
- Previous experience with electrical installation, maintenance, construction, or repair work preferred.
- Experience in a construction, field service, operations, or similar work environment preferred.
- Entry-level experience assisting senior technicians or supporting field operations is a plus.
- Relevant electrical certifications, registrations, or licenses are preferred and may be required depending on job duties and applicable regulations.
Physical and Work Environment Requirements
- Communicate in person, by phone, and through email or other electronic systems.
- Travel to customer locations and job sites as required.
- Stand, walk, climb ladders and stairs, kneel, bend, stoop, crouch, crawl, reach, and work in various positions throughout the workday.
- Sit for extended periods while driving to and between job sites.
- Work indoors and outdoors on active job sites, including attics, crawlspaces, confined areas, and elevated spaces.
- Work in varying weather conditions and around construction noise, dust, equipment, and other typical job-site conditions.
- Wear required personal protective equipment and follow all established safety procedures.
- Lift, carry, push, and pull at least 50 pounds, with or without reasonable accommodation.
- Maintain dependable transportation and consistent, reliable attendance.
- Work overtime, modified schedules, or occasional weekends based on customer, project, or operational needs.
- Perform all work on-site and in person.
