Position: Full-time High School ELA Teacher
Salary: Per NBEA Master Agreement
About the Role
North Branch Area Schools is seeking a dedicated and passionate High School English Language Arts (ELA) Teacher for the 2026-2027 school year.
Responsibilities
- Plan, prepare, and deliver instructional activities that facilitate active learning experiences.
- Develop schemes of work and lesson plans in line with curriculum objectives.
- Establish and communicate clear objectives for all learning activities.
- Provide a variety of learning materials and resources for use in educational activities.
- Observe and evaluate student's performance and development.
- Assign and grade class work, homework, tests, and assignments.
- Encourage and monitor the progress of individual students.
- Maintain accurate and complete records of students' progress and development.
- Participate in department, school, and parent meetings.
- Communicate necessary information regularly to students, colleagues, and parents regarding student progress and student needs.
Requirements
- Valid Michigan teaching certificate with an endorsement in English (Secondary).
- Demonstrated experience or strong potential in teaching ELA at the high school level.
- Commitment to ongoing professional development.
- Strong classroom management skills.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
