About the role

We are seeking a dedicated and passionate teacher to join our faculty as a high school English Language Arts teacher. The ideal candidate is inspiring and dynamic, empowering students through literature, writing, and critical thinking. This position requires strong classroom management, a student-centered approach, and the ability to differentiate instruction for diverse learners.

Responsibilities

• Develop and implement engaging lesson plans aligned with school and curriculum standards
• Teach reading, writing, grammar, and literature analysis
• Utilize formative and summative assessments to determine student growth
• Provide feedback to students and communicate regularly with parents/guardians
• Collaborate with colleagues and participate in faculty meetings and professional development
• Incorporate technology and diverse teaching strategies to meet varied learning styles and needs

Requirements

• Certified with the State of Michigan to teach grades 6-12 in English Language Arts (BA or BX endorsement)
• Effective classroom management skills
• Ability to build positive relationships with students and families
• Passion for teaching and working with students
• Commitment to ensure all students are academically challenged based on individual learning levels

Additional certifications preferred.
