Position Information
- Department: Student Supports
- Reports to: Student Supports Coordinator
- Work Schedule: 10-month (mid/late July - mid/late May)
- Employment Type: Full time, Exempt
- Location: Harvey, LA
Position Summary
The EL Interventionist provides targeted, data-driven support to multilingual learners to accelerate language acquisition and academic achievement. This role works closely with classroom teachers to deliver small group and in-class interventions, monitor student progress, and ensure students access grade-level content.
Key Responsibilities
- Instruction & Intervention:
- Deliver small group and in-class EL supports aligned to core instruction
- Implement evidence-based strategies to build language proficiency and content mastery
- Support teachers with scaffolding, differentiation, and student engagement
- Provide targeted tutoring and intervention during and/or after school
- Data & Assessment:
- Track and analyze student progress using assessment data
- Use data to adjust instruction and intervention plans in real time
- Maintain accurate records of student performance and services
- Support testing accommodations and proctor assessments as needed
- Classroom & School Support:
- Aid with classroom routines, behavior support, and maintaining a positive learning environment
- Reinforce school-wide expectations and contribute to a strong culture
- Collaborate regularly with teachers and instructional leaders
- Professional Responsibilities:
- Communicate regularly with families regarding student progress
- Participate in coaching, feedback cycles, and professional development
- Complete administrative tasks accurately and on time
CANDIDATE PROFILE
- Qualifications:
- Bachelor's Degree preferred, not required
- High School Diploma required
- Experience supporting middle or high school students, especially English Learners
- Bilingual (Spanish or Arabic) strongly preferred
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
- Ability to use data to inform instruction and support decisions
- Clear communicator with strong interpersonal skills
- Proactive, flexible, and solutions-oriented

Compensation
- Annual Salary Ranges:
- $35,000 - $50,000 starting salary depending on degree level, certification, content, previous student outcomes, and experience
- Additional Stipends:
- Employees may be eligible for stipends or supplemental compensation for approved responsibilities that extend beyond the regular duties of their position.
- Examples may include athletic coaching, club sponsorship, leadership, special projects, additional workdays, extended hours, or other assigned duties.
- Eligibility and amounts are determined by the school and may vary from year to year.
- Raises and Bonuses:
- We believe exceptional performance should be recognized. Employees may be eligible for performance-based raises and bonuses.
