EL Instructor - Private Day Schools

About the role

This position accelerates English language acquisition and academic content learning in math, language arts, science, and social studies for multilingual learners placed in various private day schools across Northern Virginia. Private day schools are specialized educational settings outside the public school system that serve students with disabilities who require intensive supports and services beyond what can be provided in a traditional school environment.

Responsibilities

• Provide instruction tailored to the needs of English learners (ELs).
• Ensure students develop the academic English language skills needed to meet classroom expectations, achieve passing scores on SOL or Virginia Alternate Assessment Program (VAAP) assessments, and fulfill graduation requirements.
• Serve as a liaison between ELs, their classroom teachers, families, and the broader school community.
• Implement all English Learner Program procedures to ensure compliance with state and federal requirements.
