Responsibilities
- Work under the direction of the cardiologist and the manager of cardiology.
- Interpret and recognize arrhythmias; monitor and record physiological data.
- Perform special procedures such as tilt‑table testing for syncope, graded cardiac exercise testing, MPI exercise testing, 6‑minute walk test, and cardiac exercise testing with metabolic measurements.
- Set up cardiac monitoring devices, including Holter monitors and Zio patches.
- Perform electrocardiograms in both inpatient and outpatient settings and assist cardiology at off‑site clinic locations.
- Collaborate interdepartmentally with hospital operations and outpatient service departments.
- Comply with the hospital‑wide program for surveillance, prevention, and infection control.
- Recognize and advocate for each patient as an individual with unique healthcare needs, providing considerate, respectful care and affirming the patient’s right to make decisions regarding medical care.
Requirements
- Completion of a basic arrhythmia recognition course.
- BLS certification upon hire.
Preferred Qualifications
- 2 years experience as an EKG Technician (preferred).
- CCT – Certified Cardiographic Technician (Cardiovascular Credentialing International certification).
Schedule
4 days per week, 8‑hour days, 8:30 am – 5:00 pm.
