EKG Technician II
About the role
Responsible for administering electrocardiograms, applying Holter monitors, and carrying out various office and clerical duties.
Responsibilities
- Perform electrocardiograms daily for emergency and routine care to inpatients and outpatients.
- Apply Holter monitor to patients, explaining how they are used.
- Edit all EKG reports and transcribe all Holter and echocardiogram reports.
- Assist RNs with stress and nuclear testing.
- Act as preceptor in training new staff members.
- Schedule cardiology testing for inpatients and outpatients.
- Input medical data into the computer for billing purposes.
- Generate and prepare unedited EKG reports daily for interpretation by cardiologist.
- Maintain and clean equipment and prepare it for the next shift.
- Transport patients to and from room for testing.
- Perform all other related duties as assigned.
Requirements
- Vocational/technical training and a minimum of six months job-related experience or equivalent is required.
