About the role
We are seeking an Environmental, Health & Safety (EHS) Technician to support environmental compliance, workplace safety, and industrial hygiene programs within a manufacturing environment. The EHS Technician will assist in implementing safety initiatives, conducting audits, delivering employee training, maintaining compliance with OSHA, EPA, DOT, and other regulatory requirements, and supporting environmental projects. This role partners with plant leadership to maintain a safe, healthy, and compliant workplace while promoting continuous improvement in environmental and safety performance.
Responsibilities
- Assist with accident, incident, and near-miss investigations and support corrective actions.
- Maintain environmental, health, safety, and industrial hygiene records and documentation.
- Support the plant Safety Committee and participate in EHS initiatives.
- Prepare and deliver EHS presentations and employee training, including Lockout/Tagout (LOTO).
- Conduct routine safety, environmental, and industrial hygiene audits throughout the facility.
- Identify hazards and recommend corrective and preventive actions.
- Review equipment installations and process modifications for EHS compliance.
- Assist in maintaining the facility's fire protection systems.
- Maintain EHS databases and documentation.
- Coordinate hazardous waste management, including storage, pickups, disposal, and shipment preparation.
- Complete environmental reports and ensure timely regulatory reporting.
- Support environmental compliance projects and recycling initiatives.
Requirements
- High School Diploma or equivalent.
- 2–3 years of Environmental, Health & Safety (EHS) experience or equivalent experience within a manufacturing environment.
- Knowledge of OSHA, EPA, DOT, MIOSHA, MDEQ, and other applicable environmental and safety regulations.
Pay
$24–$25.00/hour (W2)
Schedule
7 AM – 4 PM, Monday – Friday
