EHS Technician
About the role
Base is growing fast and so is the infrastructure behind it. As an EHS technician, you'll be at the center of our safety program: on the floor, in the field, and deep in the compliance work that keeps our people safe and our operations running. You'll partner with engineers, production leads, and field crews across Austin and beyond. This role sits inside a high-ownership EHS team where you'll have meaningful responsibility from day one.
Responsibilities
- Own day-to-day OSHA, TCEQ, RCRA, EPA, and DOT compliance across our facility and job sites inspections, corrective actions, and program management
- Provide active floor and field presence: identify hazards, coach safe behaviors, deliver training, and build a safety culture that works on the line, not just on paper
- Manage the full RCRA hazardous waste program storage, labeling, satellite accumulation, drum logs, and coordination with disposal contractors
- Respond to EHS incidents and emergencies: activate procedures, collect preliminary findings, and support root cause investigations
- Support air permit, SWPPP, and SPCC inspection cycles; develop JHAs and PPE assessments; maintain EHS documentation and databases
Requirements
- 3+ years of EHS experience in a manufacturing, industrial, or field operations environment
- Working knowledge of OSHA 29 CFR 1910 and 1926, RCRA hazardous waste requirements, and EPA/TCEQ regulations
- Electrical experience required; familiarity with lithium-ion battery storage systems or NFPA 855 is a plus
- Hands-on track record in hazardous waste management, emergency response, and exposure monitoring; clear communicator comfortable engaging crews, engineers, and leadership
Qualifications
- Forklift-certified (or obtainable within 30 days)
- Valid Texas driver's license
