About the role
Erie Neighborhood House provides comprehensive support to immigrant and low-income families in Chicago. Since 1870, the organization has evolved to meet the changing needs of these communities. Today, Erie House offers a wide range of programs including early childhood education, mental health services, adult education, legal assistance, and more.
Responsibilities
- Promote early education to the most needed communities by partnering with the classroom team to provide developmentally and culturally appropriate lesson plans.
- Work with the classroom team to effectively manage the classroom environment.
- Promote recognition, acceptance, and positive interactions among children, families, and staff in the classroom.
- Complete and facilitate lesson plans in cooperation with the classroom team.
Requirements
- Associates degree in Early Childhood Education.
- Illinois Gateways Infant Toddler credential level 3.
- Bilingual/bicultural Spanish preferred.
- Ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds.
Qualifications
- Criminal, Child Abuse and Neglect, and Sex Offender background checks are mandatory.
Skills
- Strong communication skills.
- Ability to work collaboratively with a team.
- Knowledge of DCFS licensing, NAEYC, and Head Start performance standards.

- Compensation of $37,200-$40,200 based on experience.

Sign-On Incentive
A sign-on bonus of $500 upon hire and another $500 upon completion of 90 days.
