About the role
Eaton’s AER MSD Mission System Division is seeking an EHS Supervisor to lead EHS team members and cross-functional stakeholders across a complex manufacturing environment.
Responsibilities
- Support the creation of site targets and objectives in support of corporate, regional and business group EHS strategic initiatives designed to drive EHS culture, compliance, and results.
- Drive preventative and proactive action projects to mitigate and eliminate risks through root cause identification and corrective actions for EHS activities.
- Ensure that federal, state, and local EHS regulations are met including air, land, and water to provide a safe working environment for employees and a clean and healthful environment for the community.
- Drive the assignment of MESH cross-functional element champions and facilitate their engagement in ownership of respective MESH elements.
- Use established EHS data processes to manage data such as injuries and illnesses, environmental metrics, risk assessments, EHS action items and other pertinent information.
- Work with site leadership team and facilities to ensure key EHS operational controls are in place, on a PM program, and that EHS action items are resolved on a timely basis.
- Provide technical oversight to ensure compliance with local, state and federal environmental regulations including: RCRA, SWPPP, SPCC, CWA, etc.
- Ensure environmental data is collected and submitted on time.
- Serve as liaison with applicable external regulatory agencies during compliance audits.
- Develop and manage compliance trainings and site-wide communications as necessary to address trends and promote employee engagement.
- Provide guidance and support for Eaton's Management of Change process (facilities changes, chemical reviews, and process changes).
- Manage and support site EHS Training Plan.
- Manage EHS team members directly and indirectly to ensure regulatory and corporate compliance needs.
- Maintain responsibility for the environmental compliance programs for the facilities, including Stormwater, Wastewater, Chemical Management, and other programs as needed.
- Contribute as site primary or secondary Emergency Response Coordinator.
- Collect, analyze, and report environmental data related to compliance and sustainability for the facility.
- Respond to and mitigate emergency situations at the facility inside or outside of normal business hours.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Environmental Sciences, Environmental Management, Environmental Engineering, Safety Engineer, Chemical Engineering or other EHS related field.
- Minimum of 6 years experience working in EHS or related discipline within a manufacturing environment.
- Minimum 2 years experience leading or managing people (direct or indirect).
Preferred Qualifications
- Master’s degree in Environmental Sciences, Environmental Management, Environmental Engineering, Safety Engineering, Chemical Engineering or other EHS related field.
- Certified Safety Professional (CSP), Certified Industrial Hygienist (CIH), Certified Hazardous Materials Manager (CHMM) certification.
- Comprehension of industry, state, and country EHS requirements.
- Familiarity with ISO 14001 and other Occupational Health and Safety management system standards.
- Experience creating and/or updating environmental plans, permits and standard operating procedures.
- Experience working with EHS management systems and maintaining ISO 14001 certifications.
- Ability to lead and support cross-functional EHS teams.
- Ability to listen effectively and express ideas clearly to exchange information in a team environment.
- Strong time management and organizational skills.
