Summary
The EHS Specialist is responsible for leading and supporting the EHS function at the plant level. Essential Duties and Responsibilities include:
- Following, enforcing, and communicating all internal and OSHA required safety procedures.
- Cooking the safety program including written programs, training, inspections, and committee activities to ensure that local and federal requirements are met.
- Investigating incidents, performing root cause analysis, and coming up with corrective/preventative actions.
- Providing support to plant for environmental, health, and safety questions/concerns.
- Reporting to the Management Team on the status of the environmental management system, including environmental compliance, system audits, and corrective action plans.
- Leading workers compensation claims, including paperwork and communications with injured employees and TPA/insurer.
- Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
- Five plus years of experience in an EHS role.
- Previous work experience in a plastic injection molding environment preferred.
Physical Requirements
- Ability to stand, walk, sit, talk or hear.
- Ability to lift 30 pounds.
- Occasionally required to climb or balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl.
- Close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.
Working Conditions
- Regular exposure to moving mechanical parts.
- Sometimes exposed to extreme heat and vibration.
- Noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.
- Work hours may vary depending on support needed on off shifts such as training, incident investigation, etc.
