EHS Specialist

What You'll Do

• Drive one or more manufacturing department EHS outcomes through leadership and employee engagement in alignment with the business and EHS strategies
• Actively work with factory stakeholders to ensure that Production and Factory changes result in improved controls of risks to health, safety and the environment
• Perform audits and inspections, document results, and verify action closure
• Analyze event trends and use risk-assessment methods to identify continuous improvement projects that reduce injury, illness and environmental impact events
• Facilitate investigations from a Learning Teams approach, ensuring worker involvement and that preventative actions address system causes and not just individual behaviors
• Participate in pre-job planning and verification of controls/safeguards before new, high risk, and non-standard work begins
• Partner with EHS specialties (Environmental, Construction Safety, Equipment Safety, EHS Systems and Tools, EHS Training, etc.) as needed to ensure effective service delivery

What You'll Bring

• 5+ years of experience as an EHS professional, preferably in a manufacturing, oil & gas, construction, or similar workplace
• Bachelor’s Degree in Safety Engineering, Industrial Hygiene, Environmental Health, or equivalent experience
• Experience supporting EHS program development, training all levels of personnel, and influencing/managing change to reduce risk and improve outcomes by working with cross functional teams
• Experience with hazard analysis methods, hazard communication, powered industrial vehicle safety, OSHA compliance, event/incident investigation and learnings, and corrective action management
• Familiarity with industrial hygiene, industrial ergonomics, machine safety, environmental compliance processes
• Expert proficiency with Microsoft Office applications
