EHS Specialist

Safety & Health Specialist Role

Responsibilities

• Prepare and conduct Safety & Health related education, communication, and training
• Develop and share Safety & Health related reports
• Gain subject matter expertise for federal, state, and Marvin enterprise safety & health compliance
• Coordinate Safety & Health activities at a manufacturing site
• Champion all Safety & Health activities within the facility
• Maintain local Safety & Health policies and procedures
• Drive and maintain facility readiness for internal and external audits
• Conduct self-assessment Safety & Health audits
• Test and service safety equipment and systems
• Support the use of the control hierarchy
• Coordinate applicable health screenings

Requirements

• Knowledge of OSHA standards
• Excellent communication and computer skills (Microsoft Office)
• Aptitude for technology
• Ability to work effectively with management and associates
• Willingness to grow within the Health & Safety space
• One or more of the following certifications: NSC Advanced Safety Certificate, OSHA 30 Hour, Occupational Hygiene and Safety Technician Certification (OHST), or ability to obtain within 1 year of employment

Qualifications

• Associates degree preferred or equivalent experience
• Experience in a manufacturing environment preferred
• Demonstrated engagement in safety activities preferred (e.g., safety committee member, first responder, etc.)
