EHS Specialist

Job Summary

The Sr. Environmental, Health, & Safety (EHS) Specialist at Ethos Biosciences will protect the safety of employees and promote environmental sustainability through training, engagement, and compliance. This role will develop EHS strategies, programs, and plans, ensuring compliance with relevant regulations and fostering a culture where safety, health, and the environment are valued.

Responsibilities

• Develops and implements EHS strategies, programs, and plans
• Evaluates EHS performance and drives continuous improvement
• Ensures compliance with regulatory requirements and audits
• Manages change processes and establishes safety protocols
• Conducts risk assessments and eliminates hazards
• Trains employees and management on EHS topics
• Supports initiatives across engineering, operations, HR, quality, and more

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, or Occupational Environmental Health and Safety
• Minimum of 5 years' experience in an EHS role within a chemical manufacturing facility
• Experience with chemical process safety, lab safety, and hazardous material handling
• Track record of establishing productive partnerships and communicating effectively
• Experience with RMP, DOT, EPA, ATF, DEP, OSHA, GHS, FDA, RCRA, TSCA, FMCSA, ASME, and other relevant compliance areas
• Knowledge of ISOSix Sigma and Lean Manufacturing, and certifications such as CIH, CSP, CCPSC, or related
• Experience with non-hazardous and hazardous waste management, SDS authoring, and Microsoft Office, especially Excel (Pivot Tables & V-Lookup)
