EHS Specialist

Key Responsibilities

  • Implement, administer, and continuously improve Badger Meter’s EHS policies, processes, and programs to ensure compliance with all federal, state, and local regulations.
  • Conduct regular safety and environmental inspections, ensuring operational controls are in place and corrective actions are completed promptly.
  • Provide guidance to employees and supervisors on safe work practices, hazard identification, and risk mitigation.
  • Support the development and maintenance of programs such as fire prevention, emergency response, ergonomic assessments, evacuation planning, and weather-related procedures.
  • Develop and report monthly EHS metrics, including injury and illness data, identifying trends and recommending corrective actions.
  • Respond to safety and environmental concerns, providing immediate support and coordinating urgent response efforts when needed.
  • Lead or participate in incident investigations, including injuries, property damage, and near misses; manage workers’ compensation reporting, monitoring, and return-to-work coordination.
  • Maintain and audit safety training records; support and deliver training sessions as needed.
  • Work on key safety initiatives such as Job Safety Analyses (JSAs), Lockout/Tagout (LOTO) updates, and safety talk audits.

Qualifications

  • Working knowledge of OSHA, NIOSH, ACGIH, EPA, DOT, WDNR, and other applicable regulations.
  • Strong ability to identify hazards and develop effective solutions.
  • Experience with environmental a plus.
  • Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities in a dynamic environment.
