EHS Specialist

About the role

Electrical Thermal Solutions (ETS), part of Spirax Group, is seeking an Environmental, Health & Safety Specialist (EH&SS) to join our team. Based in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, we are a leader in advanced thermal technologies for challenging industrial heating applications.

Responsibilities

• Maintain the EH&SS Management System, ensuring compliance with regulations and guidelines.
• Ensure compliance with the EH&SS Program by all site personnel through training and awareness.
• Participate on the Site EH&SS Committee and serve as a technical resource to local management.
• Work closely with the EH&SS Manager and Site Leadership to support continual improvement and compliance.
• Conduct Site Audits & Inspections, Risk Assessments, and Incident Investigations.
• Support incident investigations and develop root cause solutions.
• Facilitate hazard assessments and develop key safety documents.
• Manage the Site Security Process, Security Plan, and Emergency Planning and Response Process.
• Support the Behavioral-Based Safety Program and Safety as a Core Value.
• Provide regulatory and practical training, create new training materials, and support the EH&SS Management of Change process.
• Collect, analyze, and trend key leading indicators and facilitate routine metrics reporting.
• Conduct daily facilities patrols and assist in incident investigations.
• Support energy reduction and sustainability initiatives.
• Ensure contractor compliance with site procedures and guidelines.

• Ability to respond to common inquiries or complaints from employees and/or customers.
• Experience with risk assessments, incident investigations, and safety training delivery.
• Minimum 5+ years of environmental, health and safety management experience.
• Hands-on approach with a sense of urgency, ability to work under pressure, and manage multiple priorities.
• Attention to detail and multi-tasking ability.
• High energy level and comfortable performing multifaceted projects.
• Demonstrated ability to influence others and impact change.
• Well organized and demonstrated ability to establish priorities.
• Ability to observe strict confidentiality.
• Bachelor’s degree preferred, ASP, CSP, CHMM, or similar certification (or willingness to pursue).
• Strong knowledge of OSHA regulations, EPA/IEPA standards, and general industry best practices.
• Experienced in industrial manufacturing (machining or metal working preferred).
• Extensive knowledge of federal, state, and local laws and regulations pertaining to safety, health, and environmental programs.
• Experience developing, implementing, and managing EH&SS plans and programs.
• Prior experience with recordkeeping or managing databases.
• Prior experience with EHS Training Software and Data Management Systems.
• Authorized to work in the U.S. without sponsorship now or in the future.
