We are looking for an energetic, hands-on, and solutions-driven Environmental Health & Safety (EHS) Specialist to join our manufacturing team.
Responsibilities
- Partner with plant leadership to promote a proactive safety culture focused on prevention and accountability
- Assist in developing, implementing, and maintaining EHS policies, procedures, and programs
- Conduct safety audits, inspections, hazard assessments, and risk evaluations
- Investigate incidents, near misses, and safety concerns while helping implement corrective actions
- Support OSHA, EPA, and other regulatory compliance activities
- Cook up safety training and employee engagement initiatives
- Maintain EHS records, reports, permits, and documentation
- Monitor environmental compliance programs including waste management, air emissions, and chemical handling
- Participate in continuous improvement initiatives related to safety, ergonomics, and operational efficiency
- Work closely with supervisors and employees to identify opportunities for safer processes and work practices
- Aid in emergency response planning and preparedness activities
- Support contractor safety and compliance programs
- Help drive safety metrics, reporting, and communication across departments
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Environmental Health & Safety, Occupational Safety, Industrial Hygiene, Environmental Science, Engineering, or related field
- Experience in manufacturing, industrial, or production environments preferred
- Knowledge of OSHA, EPA, and workplace safety regulations
- Strong communication, training, and relationship-building skills
- Ability to work both independently and collaboratively across departments
- Strong organizational and problem-solving abilities
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office and reporting systems
- Experience with incident investigations and root cause analysis
- Bonus points if you have experience in textiles, industrial manufacturing, or heavy manufacturing
- Osha certifications or EHS-related certifications
- Lean Manufacturing or continuous improvement experience
