Responsibilities

  • Coordinate environmental, health, and safety activities through strong leadership and communication.
  • Provide environmental health and safety training for team members, including new hire orientation.
  • Investigate work-related injuries and/or illnesses, provide statistical analysis, and assist in developing effective health and safety countermeasures to continuously improve safety objectives.
  • Ensure legislative compliance with Federal, state, and local regulations.
  • Lead the Safety Team and coordinate activities, recommendations, and accountability for identified issues.
  • Conduct routine safety observation tours with effective follow-up.
  • Coordinate emergency evacuation procedures, training, and practice drills.
  • Coordinate chemical awareness training and monitor on a continuous basis.
  • Ensure all environmental reports (land, air, water, hazardous waste) are submitted accurately and on time.
  • Manage pollution prevention programs according to local regulations.
  • Coordinate and manage the hazardous waste program.
  • Coordinate recycling efforts for all recyclable scrap.
  • Serve as the ISO 14000 Management Representative.
  • Perform all other duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree or technical certifications in a related field (preferred but not required).
  • 3+ years of experience in a related field and/or automotive manufacturing environment.
  • Ability to understand Environmental and Safety standards.
  • Strong communication, negotiation, problem-solving, and teamwork skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office tools.
  • Demonstrated use of data-based decision-making and problem-solving.
  • Open-minded, willing to take responsibility, and results-oriented.

Minimum travel may be required.
