About the role
This position reports directly to the Safety, Health, & Environmental Director and holds overall ownership of the site’s environmental program.
Responsibilities
- Manage 5 Environmental Engineers focused on Air, Solid Waste, and Water Compliance
- Direct integration between the site and governing agencies
- Serve as the site’s liaison to the community on environmental compliance matters
- Monitor regulatory changes to anticipate and avoid surprises at plant leadership level
- Ensure all compliance reports are prepared and approved ahead of schedule
- Participate in cross-functional teams to resolve compliance issues
- Act as the environmental expert during Management of Change (MOD) projects
- Prepare the environmental budget
Requirements
- Minimum of five years of relevant work experience
- Experience managing people and projects
Preferred Qualifications
- Five years of work experience in a related field
- Wastewater experience
- Prior work with government clients
- Permit writing experience
- Government compliance experience
Education
- Bachelor’s Degree in Environmental Science, Engineering, Biology, or Chemistry
- Five years of work experience in a related field
Preferred Education
- Master’s in Environmental Science with eight years of applicable experience
