EHS Lead

About the role

The site Hourly Safety Lead is responsible for enhancing safety programs, engaging employees, and ensuring compliance.

Responsibilities

• Improve injury prevention, employee engagement, and compliance activities.
• Participate in employee-led team projects and communicate progress to peers and leaders.
• Train co-workers on Behavior Based Safety (BBS) and conduct safety training.
• Audit On-The-Job Training and identify gaps.
• Conduct Tier I and Tier II sessions and update safety boards.
• Train leaders and peers on 1 on 1 Engagements and Near Miss Reporting Programs.
• Analyze data and identify trends for improvement.
• Follow up on Safety Flashes/Alerts from other locations.
• Support a safety culture and remain aware of surroundings.
• Follow safety procedures and report concerns immediately.
• Ensure quality by following GMP guidelines and inspecting product.
• Communicate effectively and coach peers and leaders.

Qualifications

• Passionate about safety and its impact on employee engagement, compliance, and injury prevention.
• Baseline knowledge of safety programs like Lockout Tag Out, PPE, Machine Guarding, etc.
• Basic Microsoft skills (outlook, power point, word).
• Competent in using a calculator and ruler/tape measure.
• Proficient in the English language (reading, writing, speaking).
• Capable of communicating in front of large groups and interacting with peers and leaders.
• Reliable and dependable for completing work assignments.
• Accomplished in coaching peers and willing to coach leaders.
• Experience working in an industrial/manufacturing/warehouse environment.
