About the role
As an EHS Lead, you will play a critical role in fostering a safe, compliant, and sustainable manufacturing environment. You will independently lead environmental, health, and safety programs, conduct risk assessments, investigate incidents, and partner with plant leadership to drive continuous improvement. This role offers the opportunity to influence site-wide safety culture while helping make Hershey the Sweetest Place on Earth to work.
Responsibilities
- Lead and execute Environmental, Health & Safety (EHS) programs that ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and company standards.
- Conduct hazard assessments, safety audits, and environmental reviews to identify risks and drive corrective actions.
- Investigate safety incidents, determine root causes, and partner with cross-functional teams to implement preventive measures.
- Deliver and support EHS training programs that promote safe work practices and environmental stewardship.
- Monitor compliance with applicable safety and environmental regulations and maintain required documentation.
- Support continuous improvement initiatives, safety management systems, and sustainability objectives.
- Partner with operations, engineering, and plant leadership to integrate EHS best practices into day-to-day operations.
- Track performance metrics, communicate findings, and provide recommendations that improve employee well-being and operational excellence.
Requirements
- 3+ years of experience in Environmental, Health & Safety, safety program management, manufacturing operations, or a related field.
- Experience conducting audits, incident investigations, risk assessments, and regulatory compliance activities.
- Experience working in manufacturing, consumer packaged goods, food production, or a related industrial environment preferred.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Occupational Safety, Environmental Science, Safety Engineering, Industrial Hygiene, EHS, or a related field preferred.
- Equivalent combination of education and relevant experience will be considered.
