About the role

The Electronic Health Record (EHR) Clinical Support Supervisor contributes to operational and strategic leadership for the Office of Health Informatics. This position supervises staff who provide frontline, clinician-focused EHR support and just-in-time training services across DCT. The role exists to ensure clinical technology effectively supports patient care, clinical workflows, and data integrity by aligning end user needs with system capabilities and organizational priorities while supporting strategic initiatives and regulatory compliance.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee daily operations and supervise EHR clinical support, learning, and user experience specialists.
  • Drive workflow and system optimization to improve user experience and EHR adoption.
  • Collaborate with clinical and operational stakeholders.
  • Support employee development through coaching, performance management, and professional growth.
  • Align multiple service lines to establish clear, fair prioritization based on clinical impact and organizational goals.
  • Manage system changes that affect multiple workflows while minimizing disruption through coordinated planning, testing, and training.
  • Address user resistance to new workflows or optimizations while supporting adoption and productivity.

Requirements

  • Demonstrated leadership experience may include any of the following:
    • Experience as a supervisor, team lead, lead worker, OR project lead
    • Completion of a State leadership development program, such as Emerging Leaders Institute (ELI) or Senior Leadership Institute (SLI)
    • Completion of a similar or equivalent leadership development program through another organization
    • A paid or unpaid position leading a program or chairing a committee, such as an Employee Resource Group (ERG).
  • Two Years Of Experience With Strategic Planning, Data Analysis, And Troubleshooting IT/clinical Issues In The Area Of Electronic Health Records.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree or higher in Informatics, health care IT, computer science, or related technical field.
  • Strong analytical, problem solving, and process improvement skills.
  • Ability to communicate effectively with clinical, technical, and executive stakeholders.
  • Knowledge of healthcare regulations, standards, and best practices related to health informatics division or area specific required information.

Skills

  • Strong communication, collaboration, and change-management skills in supporting business processes and electronic solutions.
  • Experience with supervisory oversight of day-to-day Health Informatics operations planning, organizing and directing technical and administrative activities to staff and partners to ensure consistent, high-quality service delivery.
  • Experience with training principles, adult learning techniques, and effective instructional delivery.
  • Experience working in a team environment and incorporating multi-disciplined interests into decisions and actions.
  • Experience in negotiation, conflict resolution and consensus building with diverse groups to solve difficult and sensitive problems.
  • Partnering with stakeholders at all levels of the organization, technical teams, and leadership to prioritize work, align strategic objectives, and drive continuous improvement.
  • Experience leading a new initiative that includes integration with numerous partners.
