EH&S Coordintor

About the role

The Site Safety Coordinator will manage the site’s safety programs, drive continuous improvement in safety policies and procedures, and recommend improvements to manufacturing processes or equipment to improve safety. In this role, you will be the main point of contact for all site safety-related matters.

Responsibilities

• Identify and eliminate unsafe conditions in the work area.
• Model and reinforce safe behaviors.
• Ensure compliance with OSHA and local regulatory requirements for training, documentation, and reporting.
• Comply with cGMP and ISO 13485 quality system standards.
• Plan and deliver timely training to ensure operator competency.
• Collaborate with management to develop, prepare, and implement safety policies and procedures.
• Coordinate safety programs to promote and ensure a safe working environment.
• Evaluate the effectiveness of safety programs and recommend revisions, improvements, and updates.
• Submit recommendations for improvements to the safety management program, including emergency preparedness, accident prevention, general safety, and risk management.
• Stop operations and activities that could harm staff or equipment.
• Identify opportunities to minimize workplace injuries, accidents, and health problems.
• Share environmental safety information with appropriate levels in the organization.
• Review Job Hazard Assessments and Work Instructions to ensure all potential safety hazards are documented and training is in place to mitigate them.
• Work with Engineering during the Installation Qualification phase to assess safety risk using tools such as Process Safety Audits (PSA), Job Hazard Assessments (JHA), and Safety Risk Assessments (SRA).
• Perform routine Safety Audits of every work center or workspace.
• Respond to reports of hazards or injuries and drive corrective action or process improvement.
• Model company values to create a culture of open communication, data-driven decisions, relentless preparation, teamwork, and over-delivering.
• Lead the Site Safety Committee in monthly meetings.

Requirements

• Associate’s Degree or minimum relevant work experience required.
• OSHA 30-Hour Certification.
• 5+ years of safety program management; OR equivalent combination of education and skills.

Preferred Qualifications

• Working knowledge of lean manufacturing, Six Sigma, and 5S.
• Experience in manufacturing operations.
• Mathematical skills.

Working Conditions

• Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
• Must be able to lift up to 10 lbs.
• Frequent visits to the manufacturing floor.
• Ability to travel (US and internationally).
• Ability to work evenings and/or weekends.
