About the Role
We are searching for talented Expanded Function Dental Assistants (EFDAs) who prioritize patient care and provide excellent customer service. You will support the doctor with precise assistance, maintain an amiable chair-side manner, and contribute to a smooth, efficient dental practice.
Responsibilities
- Provide extraordinary customer service, prioritizing the patient at all times with an excellent chair-side manner.
- Be present, engaged, and ready to work during all assigned shift times.
- Take direction from doctors and/or hygienists, assist with all dental procedures, anticipate their needs, and perform patient oral evaluations.
- Take, develop, and mount accurate, high-quality radiographs.
- Review patient charts prior to doctor arrival, log appropriate patient data and health history during exams and treatment, and transcribe doctors' notes.
- Clean, sterilize, and prepare equipment and operatory according to organizational procedures and guidelines before each patient appointment.
- Complete various laboratory duties.
- Perform efficient and accurate procedures to maintain the schedule and patient flow.
- Educate patients and address their questions or concerns.
- Demonstrate teamwork to deliver an extraordinary experience for every patient.
- Partner with doctors, hygienists, and support staff to maintain excellent patient service and organizational integrity.
- Assist front office staff in scheduling follow-up visits and tracking lab cases to ensure quality and timely products.
- Complete checklists as assigned and participate in daily huddles to ensure smooth daily operations.
- Maintain patient confidentiality through HIPAA compliance.
- Follow organizational safety policies and procedures, including OSHA compliance and Blood-borne Pathogens (BBP) federal regulations.
- Complete all Learning Management System requirements.
Qualifications
- Minimum high school diploma or equivalent required.
- Current radiography certification required.
- EFDA (Expanded Function Dental Assistant) certification required per individual state regulations.
- Dental Assistant certification, as required by state, or ability to become certified.
- Current certification in Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) preferred.
- Current certification to monitor Nitrous Oxide/Oxygen Analgesia preferred.
- Maintain annual OSHA, HIPAA, and Infection Control training.
