Job Description

Essential Functions:

  • Completes technical EEG reports and maintains accurate medical records and documentation.
  • Identifies and performs basic and intermediate technical troubleshooting and artifact identification and elimination.
  • Provides findings, results, and a descriptive analysis according to facility policy and procedures.
  • Maintains safety during procedures.
  • Communicates to other patient care support staff.
  • Participates in tutoring, demonstrating, and mentoring other team members, providing direct and indirect technical supervision.
  • Performs a limited variety of investigational procedures on patients with possible neurologic injury and disease according to established policies and procedures.
  • Stocks and maintains supplies and equipment, ensuring adequate levels and proper functioning.
  • Prepares patient rooms for EEG procedures and performs various administrative functions.
  • Prepares patients for testing, communicating procedure information and answering questions, and ensures accurate electrode application.
  • Collections information pertinent to the interpretation of the test results.

Education Requirement

Graduation from a Commission on Accreditation of Allied Health Education Programs (CAAHEP) accredited Electroneurodiagnostic (END) Program, required. Associate’s Degree, preferred.

Licensure Requirement

  • Registered by the American Board of Registered Electroneurodiagnostic Technologists, required.
  • BRECC certification, Required.
  • BLS certification, required.

Skills

  • Effective computer operations and technology skills.

Experience

Three years of experience in the performance of EEG procedures in a patient care environment, required.
