About the role
The EEG Technician plays a crucial role in the diagnostic process, performing high-quality neurodiagnostic procedures such as EEGs, Evoked Potentials, and Nerve Conduction Studies. This role requires a deep understanding of neurophysiology and expert technical skills to adapt procedures to individual patient needs.
Responsibilities
- Independently perform routine and specialized neurodiagnostic procedures.
- Prepare patients and accurately apply electrodes according to established protocols.
- Acquire precise data using sophisticated equipment.
- Collaborate with neurologists, physicians, and unit staff to provide critical data for treatment decisions.
- Adapting procedures to individual patient needs and clinical indications.
Requirements
- Graduation from a certified Neuro-diagnostic program or four (4) or more years of relevant experience.
- Working knowledge of EEG, EMG standards.
- Understanding of medical terminology.
- Excellent mechanical/electrical skills for maintaining and troubleshooting equipment.
- Working knowledge of sterilization techniques and universal precautions.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to operate a computer.
- Working knowledge of test interpretation and techniques.
- High school diploma or GED.
Preferred
- ABERT Certification.
