JCC Greater Boston in Newton, MA, is seeking a passionate and enthusiastic Certified Infant/Toddler Teacher to join our team. This position provides an opportunity to work with students of all ages and backgrounds, with a focus on providing a positive, nurturing environment that fosters learning and growth. As a Certified Toddler Teacher, you will inspire and engage students while developing educational programs that promote social, emotional, and academic growth.

Responsibilities

• Create a safe and nurturing environment where children can play, learn, and take risks
• Maintain full responsibility for the smooth running of the classroom environment
• In partnership with Early Learning Center Directors and peers, co-create a collaborative, dynamic, positive, and innovative classroom culture
• Work in partnership with JCC leadership and other departments to support JCC Greater Boston organizational goals and model JCC values
• Partner and communicate with families to ensure the best care and education for the children
• Design and implement curriculum
• Complete observation and document assessments regarding children's progress
• Adhere to all EEC regulations as well as NAEYC guidelines

Requirements

• EEC Professional Teacher level or higher Certification (Strong Start is not considered equivalent and does not meet this requirement). For consideration, applicants must include a copy of EEC Teacher Certification or proof of pending certification along with demonstrated eligibility
• A love of children and a strong desire to make a difference every day
• Strong organizational skills, including teamwork, relationship-building skills, the ability to multitask, and the ability to manage situations effectively and diplomatically
• Excellent oral and written communication skills
• Ability and commitment to build strong relationships with families, co-workers, ELC leadership, and JCCGB colleagues
• Commitment to create and foster a dynamic environment where play and learning are a top priority
• Computer literate

About the organization

JCC Greater Boston is a nonprofit organization with roots in earlier Settlement Houses and Young Men's Hebrew Associations. Today, it offers a wide range of services and program activities throughout the Greater Boston region, serving 50,000 individuals annually in 98 communities. The organization provides programs and services including preschools, day camps, Jewish family engagement, fitness and aquatic centers, arts and culture classes, performances, lectures, and Jewish holiday celebrations.

JCC Greater Boston takes the welfare and safety of staff, children, and program participants very seriously. Operating procedures align with guidance from the CDC and the state, which may include physical distancing, sanitation, hygiene, vaccination requirements, and use of face coverings.

Pay

This is a full-time, 12-month, salaried position with a starting pay range of $47,944 - $58,136 pro rata (based on a rate range of $23.05 to $27.95 for highly qualified, certified, degreed candidates). The salary offered will ultimately be determined by relevant qualifications, experience, and JCC's internal equity.
