Job Summary

This position serves as a consultant/resource professional by providing staff development expertise as an educator, facilitator, change agent, leader, and researcher, ensuring all educational initiatives align with Critical Care/Emergency Services operational goals and facility leadership priorities.

Responsibilities

  • Supports the development of the direct-care nurse and fosters nursing excellence through new knowledge and the delivery of evidence-based practice.
  • Facilitates the educational process including assessment, development, planning, implementation, and evaluation of competency assessment, continuing education, and leadership development, in close collaboration with the Critical Care/Emergency Services Leadership Team.
  • Serves as a role model for professional behavior, demonstrating commitment through effective collaborative efforts.
  • Affirms educational needs through various formal and informal methods, ensuring alignment with departmental priorities and challenges.
  • Evaluates educational projects based on system needs and agreed-upon outcome criteria, regularly communicating progress and outcomes to the Emergency Services leadership team and reporting broader outcomes to the Market Chief Nurses.
  • Collaborates with market leaders of Emergency Services to ensure 100% implementation of all Critical Care/ED safety initiatives and other identified patient safety projects.
  • Reports timely status on Critical Care/ED safety initiatives to the Chief Nurses, Directors of Critical Care/Emergency Services, Patient Safety, and Clinical Risk Management leadership.
  • Reviews data and processes to evaluate compliance with Critical Care/ED safety initiatives, regulatory requirements, and hospital policies.
  • Supports the market in the roll-out of Critical Care/ED safety projects and goals, reporting results and providing necessary training.
  • Develops, implements, and facilitates learning opportunities and drills for the Critical Care/ED, including topics such as Mock Codes, disaster preparedness, and critical incident simulations.

Required Job Requirements

  • Three years recent acute care experience in critical care (ICU) nursing practice with demonstrated leadership experience.
  • Current and Active Registered Nurse: CA, AHA Basic Life Support.
  • Preferred: Bachelors of Nursing and at least one year in the advanced practice role in specialty nursing practice.

Pay Range:

$58.94 - $89.62 /hour
