Educator Assistant

About the role

The Educator Assistant (EA) will support the Educator I in delivering traditional and non-traditional education and recreational activities for youth in grades K–7 at The Salvation Army Kroc Center in Philadelphia, PA. This part-time position requires availability Monday–Friday, 3:30 PM–7:30 PM, with occasional weekend coverage for special events.

Responsibilities

• Assist with implementation of education and recreational activities for youth in grades K–7
• Support youth with homework completion
• Serve as a positive role model and maintain strong communication with participants, staff, and parents
• Help plan and execute special events and Family Nights
• Maintain a clean and safe work environment
• Perform other duties as assigned

Qualifications

• High School Diploma required; college credits in Education preferred
• Experience in childcare or a related field is helpful
• Detail-oriented, organized, and safety-conscious
• Ability to work with diverse populations and age/grade groups
• Willingness to transition between school-year and summer programming
• Must complete Pennsylvania Act 153 of 2014 mandated reporter training within 30 days of hire and renew every five years
• Understanding of and commitment to The Salvation Army’s mission
