Educational Technician I for Life Skills - SM High School
About the role
RSU #73 is seeking a Special Education Technician I - Life Skills position at Spruce Mountain High School, grades 9-12. The ideal candidate will work closely with the special education team to address various student needs, including academic, functional, and behavioral requirements.
Responsibilities
- Closely collaborate with the special education program team to manage student behaviors and implement Individualized Education Programs (IEPs) and behavior plans.
- Deliver academic programming in collaboration with the special education teacher.
- Support students in both small groups and one-on-one settings within the regular and special education environment.
- Foster student development and growth by addressing unique needs.
Qualifications
- Must hold an Education Technician I certification from the Maine Department of Education (MDOE).
- Experience working with students who have social and emotional challenges is preferred, though not required.
- Experience working with children or adults with disabilities is preferred, but not necessary.
Training
Training will be provided to new hires.
