Educational Teaching Assistant (SEND) - Birkenshaw CE (C) Primary School
12 hours 45 minutes a week, term time plus 3 days. Fixed-term contract until 31 August 2027 (possibility of extension).
About the role
We are seeking an enthusiastic, highly motivated, and capable 1:1 Educational Teaching Assistant to support a specific pupil in Year Five. The successful candidate will play a key role in enabling the child to fulfil their potential within our supportive school community.

Our spacious grounds include playgrounds, a ball court, adventure equipment, a woodland area, a kitchen garden, and a pond. We offer a wide range of curriculum enrichment opportunities and after-school clubs.
Responsibilities
- Provide one-to-one support for a pupil in Year Five.
- Assist with behavioural, social, and emotional needs.
- Contribute as part of a collaborative and successful team.
- Promote a flexible, caring, and patient approach to support learning.
Requirements
- Experience supporting children with additional needs.
- Experience in supporting children with behavioural and social-emotional needs.
- Commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children (enhanced DBS check required).

Schedule
- Monday: 8:30 AM – 3:15 PM
- Tuesday: 1:00 PM – 3:15 PM
- Wednesday: 1:00 PM – 3:15 PM
- Thursday: 1:00 PM – 3:15 PM
Pay
Grade 6: £7,856 – £8,373 per annum.
